Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register and pay for the program?

You can register and pay at https://hsp.laverne.edu
Please allow 2-3 days to confirm payment.
A registration confirmation will be sent through email upon enrollment.

Is there a fee for this program?

Yes, the fees for Core Courses are $250 per course/per session, and AP Courses are $325 per course/per session. Fees are non-refundable.

Can a student take more than one online high school course per session?

Yes, two is the maximum allowed. It is highly recommended to take one course per session/semester.

How many hours per week does a student need to complete a course?

Students must log in at least 25 hours per week to earn an A, B, or C; F grades are not recorded.

Will I receive high school credit for my summer course?

Yes, you will receive high school credit for any courses you take and pass.

What if a student needs more time to finish the course?

Sorry, there are no extensions. The classes must be finished by the last date of the session/semester.

What if a student needs help?

Students will have access to their instructors by email and phone.

How can students contact their course teacher?

Information will be provided in the syllabus and on the online learning management system.

How do I obtain signatures on the Alternative Credits Form?

Depending on the current school district you are in and the course you want to enroll in, you may not need approval.

However, please inquire with your school counselor or the staff at Chino Valley Unified School District (909) 591-3682.

Do students have to come in person for finals?

No, students do not need to come in person to take the finals. All finals will be online.

What if a student is unable to come in on the date of the final?

The student must make alternative arrangements with their course teacher to take the final exam.

Student's need to inform their course teacher immediately about alternative testing needs.

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OF THE FINAL!
What if a student fails the course?

No F grades will be processed or recorded on transcripts.

D grades will be processed. If a student does not want their grade to be posted, they must contact their course teacher and ask for no credits to be awarded, prior to the end of their course. Once grades are posted they cannot be removed.
